Ingredients
makes about 2/3 cup1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon anchovy paste
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, peeled
Combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, anchovy paste, mustard, and pepper in a small bowl. Press in the garlic and whisk until smooth.
Cooks' Note
If you happen to have some anchovies on hand, by all means use them for an even more flavorful dressing. Substitute 4 anchovy fillets, minced, for the anchovy paste.
