Businessman, Philanthropist Willie Wilson Makes 2nd Bid for Chicago Mayor-April 2024

It might be hard to believe, but Chicago is less than one year away from its next election, when the mayor and all 50 aldermen will be on the ballot.

Already announced as mayoral candidates are former Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy, principals’ union president Troy LaRaviere and tech entrepreneur Neal Solace-Griffin.

Tuesday, a familiar candidate threw his hat into the ring.

Joining Chicago Tonight to discuss his run for mayor is philanthropist and businessman Willie Wilson. He previously challenged Mayor Rahm Emanuel in 2015, and ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016.
