CinemaCon was rocking on Thursday, thanks to the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.

The 20th Century film stars Jeremy Allen White as the New Jersey-born music legend, known around the world as The Boss. Jeremy Strong co-stars as Jon Landau, Springsteens manager and record producer. Both actors took the stage at the Las Vegas event to present the movies first trailer.

White said that filming the project was incredible, challenging, dream come true. He added, I feel really lucky. We all had Bruces blessing on this film. Strong added about Springsteen and Landaus real-life professional relationship: The journey that theyve been on together is just beautiful and unprecedented in the history of music.

The trailer, at times both contemplative and rousing, got a big response for the audience and included Whites rendition of Born to Run.

In the trailer, White says about the album, I want it to feel like Im in the room by myself. Strongs Landau later describes Nebraska by saying that with the album, Springsteen is repairing that hole in himself. Once hes done with that, hes going to repair the entire world.

Writer-director Scott Cooper helmed the film from his own script that he adapted from Warren Zanes 2023 book of the same name. The movie focuses on the making of Springsteens 1982 spare and deeply personal Nebraska, one of the most acclaimed albums of all time.

Sources tellThe Hollywood Reporterthat the prolific record producer Dave Cobb, who has worked with Springsteen, Jason Isbell and Brandi Carlile among others, is involved with the music for the film.

Rounding out the cast are Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Gaby Hoffmann, Johnny Cannizzaro, Harrison Gilbertson, Marc Maron, David Krumholtz and Chris Jaymes.

Producers include Cooper, Zanes and Scott Stuber, along with Gotham Groups Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson. Both Springsteen and Landau are involved in the project.

Bruce Springsteen, andNebraska, in particular, have had a profound impact on me and my work, Cooper said in a previous statement. Warren Zanes wonderful telling of this chapter in Bruces life is ripe for cinematic adaptation.

Springsteen has notched countless accolades in his storied career. This includes 20 Grammys, and Oscar and a Special Tony Award, leaving him just an Emmy shy of EGOT status. His legendary live shows were the focus of last years documentary movie Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

Music biopics remain a top priority for Hollywood following such recent success stories as Paramounts Bob Marley: One Love and Searchlights Timothe Chalamet-led A Complete Unknown, with the latter Bob Dylan-focused feature landing eight Oscar nominations. One of the standout moments from this years CinemaCon was Sony announcing the four lead castmembers for its four-film Beatles project that is set for theatrical release in April 2028.

CinemaCon is the annual event for exhibitors and Hollywood studios that runs this year from March 31 to April 3. It is presented by Cinema United (formerly the National Association of Theatre Owners).
