Bradley Cooper is in talks to star opposite Margot Robbie in the Oceans Eleven prequel at Warner Bros, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Twisters and Minari filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung is directing the movie that is being produced by Robbies LuckyChap.
Details on the script by Carrie Solomon are being kept under wraps, but when the project was first announced in 2022, it was known to be an originalOceans Eleventale that was set in Europe in the 1960s. (At one point, Ryan Gosling, who starred with Robbie in Warners megahit Barbie, was in talks to star.)
The Oceans franchise is one of the studios biggest film series, having earned over $1.4 billion at the box office. Oceans 13, the most recent to star Pitt and Clooney, came out in 2007. The three films in the franchise grossed over $420 million at the domestic box office. The female-fronted Oceans 8 bowed in 2018 and grossed nearly $300 million globally.
Elsewhere in the Oceans universe, George Clooney and Brad Pitt will return for Oceans 14, which will be directed by Fall Guy helmer David Leitch.
Cooper, repped by Range Media, will next be seen in the Searchlight featureIs This Thing On?, which he also directed.
