‘Black Mirror’ Season 7 Reveals Release Date and Captivating Trailer for New Episodes-March 2024
Mar 10, 2026 6:49 PM

Black Mirror has finally set a return date and along with the release date announcement, Netflix has dropped a captivating trailer and slew of photos teasing the forthcoming episodes.

The trailer (below) merges the new episodes into one cohesive tease for the dystopian series, set to a foreboding cover of Dream A Little Dream. The clips and snippets span genres and introduce the star-studded cast, as creator/writer Charlie Brooker once again plans to tackle predictive sci-fi stories that will touch on AI, human consciousness and technology. The six-episode season releases April 10 on Netflix.

Joining the already announced cast for season seven are Michele Austin (Hard Truths), Ben Bailey Smith (David Brent: Life on the Road), Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing), Josh Finan (Say Nothing), James Nelson-Joyce (The Outlaws), Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Jay Simpson (Pride Prejudice, The Holiday) and Michael Worky (This Is Going to Hurt).

Previously announced stars includes Awkwafina, Milanka Brooks, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, Paul Giamatti, Lewis Gribben, Osy Ikhile, Rashida Jones, Siena Kelly, Billy Magnussen, Rosy McEwen, Cristin Milioti, Chris ODowd, Issa Rae, Paul G. Raymond, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jimmi Simpson and Harriet Walter.

The new season includes the first-ever Black Mirror sequel for USS Callister, which sees several cast members reprising their roles from the season four space epic, as is teased in the trailer. Magnussen, Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Brooks and Ikhile all return for the follow-up to the Emmy-winning episode. Jones, who penned season threes social media takedownNosedive, also now returns in front of the camera.

With the new cast announcements come more returning stars. Poulter and Chaudhry previously appeared in Black Mirrors standalone film that released in 2019, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. The choose-your-own-adventure movie was Netflixs first interactive offering for adults and launched the streamer into live-action programming.

Bandersnatch came with 170-page script and unique challenges for Brooker and his creative team, yet he didnt rule out tackling a similar project again. While we were making it we kept saying, Well never do this again, Brooker told The Hollywood Reporter shortly after Bandersnatch released and became a viewership success for the streamer. By the end I was saying, Oh Ive got an idea. Its definitely something I would do again and I think there are lots of ways to tackle it. The biggest challenge is narratively. It would have to justify being interactive otherwise, why put yourself through that?

Jay Simpson also previously appeared in season ones The National Anthem.

Additional information about specific episodes has not yet been released.

The idea for the highly anticipated USS Callister sequel, meanwhile, had been brewing for a while.Brooker also previously explained to The Hollywood Reporter it waspartly because of the way that it ends. The first one ends like you could just carry that story on and follow where they go now. There were various iterations it went through, various versions we wanted to do and were discussing on and off for several years. But there are a lot of schedules to sort out, and then the pandemic got in the way. It was something that looked like it wasnt going to happen, and so I was delighted when it did.

Produced by Broke Bones,Black Mirrorseason seven is created by writer Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. The series is licensed by Banijay Right.
