The nominees for the 2026 EEBAFTAfilmawardsare being unveiled in London on Tuesday.

David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood are revealing the shortlists at 12 p.m. GMT (4 a.m. PT) in a livestream from the U.K. Academys headquarters at 195 Piccadilly in the British capital.

Earlier this month,thelonglists for each categorythe results of the first round of voting for the honors were unveiled. They were led by Paul Thomas Andersons political thrillerOne Battle After Another with 16 mentions on the longlists,Chlo Zhaos Shakespearean heartbreakerHamnet (14),and Ryan Cooglers vampire filmSinners (14). Also having a strong presence on the longlists: Josh Safdies ping-pong caperMarty Supreme(13), Yorgos Lanthimos black comedyBugonia(12), and Guillermo del Toros gothicFrankenstein(12), plus Joachim TriersSentimental Valueand Jon M. ChusWicked: For Good appeared eight times each. Apart fromWicked, they are all in contention for best film, as areThe Ballad of Wallis Island,NurembergandI Swear.

The BAFTA winners will be presented with their awards at the 79thBAFTA film awardsceremony, set to take place Sunday, Feb. 22, at Londons Royal Festival Hall. After two years of Scottish starDavid Tennant(Doctor Who,Inside Man) leading through the ceremony, Scottish actor, writer and hostAlan Cumming, the presenter and producer ofThe Traitors U.S., will host the BAFTA awards show this year.

In the U.K., BBC One and BBC streamer iPlayer will show the ceremony.Streamer BritBox Internationalwill bring the ceremony to the U.S., Canada, and other markets.

The EE BAFTA Film Awards are one of the biggest nights of the year for the British film industry and beyond, celebrating on- and off-screen talent around the world.

At the BAFTA Film Awards 2025, Conclave (best film) and The Brutalist (best director and actor) won four honors each.
