CBS is once again changing its late-night lineup or rather, trimming it.
The network announced Wednesday that it will wind down its 12:35 a.m. show After Midnight later this year after two seasonsdespite a recent reneal for a third season. Host Taylor Tomlinson decided to return her focus to her stand-up comedy and touring.
The final episodes of the show are set to air in June. CBS says it wont replace After Midnight with new programming in the 12:35 a.m. slot next season. Hosting After Midnight has genuinely been the experience of a lifetime, and Ill be forever grateful for the opportunity to be part of this incredible journey. Though it was an extremely tough decision, I knew I had to return to my first passion and return to stand-up touring full-time. Tomlinson said in a statement. I appreciate CBS, [executive producer] Stephen Colbert, the producers, and the entire After Midnight staff and crew for all the love, support, and unforgettable memories.
Added Colbert, I want to thank CBS for their constant support and invaluable partnership on After Midnight, and the whole staff for their amazing dedication. While we were excited and grateful for our third season to start in the fall, we respect Taylors decision to return to stand-up full time.
After Midnight premiered in January 2024, taking over the post-Late Show With Stephen Colbert several months after The Late Late Show With James Corden ended. The panel show is a variation on Comedy Centrals @midnight, with Tomlinson leading a panel of comics through a series of games tied to the internet and pop culture stories of the day.
More to come.
