A 16-year-old boy was killed early Monday morning and more than a dozen people were shot over the weekend in Chicago, according to police.

Fourteen people were shot in 12 separate shooting incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday, the Chicago Police Department said Monday. Of those victims, one person, a 42-year-old woman, was killed.

That woman was found just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday inside her black SUV in the 3300 block of West Cuyler Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head. Her death is being investigated as a homicide, police said.

Just after 2 a.m. Monday, a 16-year-old boy was shot by an unknown person who fled on foot in the 5-100 block of East Grand Avenue. The victim was shot twice in the chest and once in the knee, and was pronounced dead on scene.

At least 366 people have been shot and 86 have been killed in Chicago thus far this year, according to city data.
