The Chicago Bears reveal plans for a new stadium and entertainment district in Arlington Heights, but Mayor Lori Lightfoot says she will continue to negotiate to try to persuade the Bears to stay in the city.

The exodus from City Hall continues as two more veterans of the Chicago City Council – Ald. SusanSadlowski Garza and Ald. Howard Brookins – say they won’t run for re-election. Lightfoot says she’s expecting more alderpeople to quit.

A war of words breaks out between Gov. Rick Abbott of Texas and Lightfoot over Abbott’s policy of bussing migrants to Chicago and other cities. Lightfoot says Abbott is treating the migrants “like freight.”

And the Chicago Sky’s hopes of a repeat end after the WNBA champions surrendered a fourth quarter lead to get bounced out by the Connecticut Sun. Meanwhile, the White Sox have won seven of their last 10 games to move to just 1.5 games back of first place in the American League Central, keeping their hopes of playing postseason baseball alive.
