The docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV posted Maxs best streaming numbers to date for its premiere week.
The show, which streamed on Max concurrent with its on-air premiere on ID, had 1.25 billion minutes of viewing for the week of March 18-24. Thats the largest weekly total for any series on Max in the nearly four years of Nielsens streaming rankings, edging out the 1.19 billion for The Last of Us in early 2023.
Netflixs 3 Body Problem grabbed the overall No. 1 spot for the week (it premiered March 21), racking up 1.37 billion minutes over its first four days. The sci-fi series narrowly beat Prime Videos remake of Road House, which had 1.32 billion minutes of viewing in the United States. Amazon had earlier claimed that the movie was Prime Videos biggest film premiere worldwide so far. Bluey (1.05 billion minutes) and Netflixs docuseries Homicide: New York (1.04 billion minutes) also made it over the billion-minute threshold for the week. The previous weeks leader, The Gentlemen, fell off by about 48 percent but still drew 971 million minutes of watch time.
Nielsens streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and dont include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries. The top streaming titles for March 18-24, 2024, are below.
