Special Session Ordered for Pension Reform-August 2024

Gov. Pat Quinn calls for a special session of the Illinois General Assembly on August 17 "to act on comprehensive pension reform that is vital for our fiscal future." The governor joins Carol Marin on Chicago Tonight at 7:00 pm to discuss that, and more news from the capitol. Then, Sen. Michael Noland from the governor's pension working group talks with Phil Ponce about whether lawmakers can solve even a piece of the state's ballooning pension crisis during this special session.
