Apr 30, 2025 11:25 PM

After a 10 year, 4 billion mile long journey, the European Space Agency’s Rosetta spacecraft made history today as the first spacecraft to go into orbit around a comet. It immediately began sending back the first detailed close-ups ever seen of a comet, in this case comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. We’ll hear from an Adler Planetarium scientist on the significance of the achievement and the scientific information the spacecraft will now begin topursue.

Watch the conference by the European Space Agency revealing the first images and science results from Rosetta's arrival on the comet.
