Lake Michigan Water Levels on the Rise-April 2024

From the 2012 drought felt throughout Illinois to recent heavy rain storms across the state, extreme weather is causing municipalities to rethink infrastructure. The Natural Resources Defense Council in Chicago is urging the state to take a long-term view of how we manage our water resources including updates to infrastructure. The Illinois legislature recently passed the Illinois Clean Water initiative that will include storm water and green infrastructure projects to improve the way we manage resources. Is this enough or should we be pushing for more updates to an old system? We discuss the issue tonight.
