Indiana's Religious Freedom Law-December 2024

Indiana's passage of a so-called religious freedom law has sparked an angry backlash from those who assert that it gives license to businesses to discriminate against same-sex couples on religious grounds. Already there has been a massive backlash against the law, with leaders of business—including Apple's CEO Tim Cook—decrying the law.Joining us to explain the legal issues that are at stake are Peter Breen, an attorney for the Thomas More Society who testified before the Indiana House of Representatives on behalf of the law, and Camilla Taylor, the counsel and marriage project national director of the Midwest regional office for Lambda Legal.

Last week, Indiana passed a religious freedom law. States colored red in the map below have enacted religious freedom restoration acts.
